Sometimes our bodies make the call for us that we need to rest! I was hoping there might be some pre-Christmas holiday show to catch (virtually or live), but I will content myself with the Love the Holidays album and GotG holiday special or repeat instead. I hope you get to take it easy for a while because you’ve more than earned it.
Incidentally, while some species of sharks do have to keep swimming to breathe there are many other shark species that do stop and rest for extended periods of time. Nurse sharks, lemon sharks and white tip sharks can be seen lazing around on the sandy sea floor.
Take care and you are in our prayers here in St. Louis. You are good man and have brought a lot of joy and will bring a lot more in the future. You know to go slow. Find something good to read. In fact read “Tell Me Everything”. Gods peace! Trust your docs and the love of your family and friends and shut the fuck up for a while. It would be a gift to have your voice back…not “shattered”.
We’re so glad to be seeing you soon at Fitzgerald’s! This probably feels scary in a lot of ways for you. Paul and I will be keeping you in heart and mind, here’s to good care and quick healing
Your fellow Texan, Larry Hagman, never spoke on Sundays to preserve his voice - he whistled instead of talking on Silent Sundays. You have all those instruments which can speak for you..... including a casio! Wishing you a healthy recovery!
Hope all goes well, from enforced silence to surgery to recovery ❤️ Selfishly, I am looking forward to any writing posted with your downtime; I confess, even three years after having covid, live shows are very draining to me, so I love being able to enjoy your other creative outlets! All the best, and a festive Dia de los Muertos to you!
Crazy how such a tiny thing can affect our voices! I'm sure the surgery will go well. Your kids are definitely going to diss your favorite bands and sports teams to try to get you to speak though... ;)
Wishing you a successful procedure and recovery, take the time you need to recover. We will all be ready to enjoy your “ new and improved “ singing voice when you are ready.
Good luck Rhett, I’ve always marveled at your vocal range on records and especially live. Keep your PMA game strong man, you’ll be back to 100% awesomeness before you know it.
All the positive juju your way for a full recovery. The world needs all aspects of your voice in it. Good luck with the week of silence. Good Lord, that would be torture to me. ❤️
Thinking of you man. ❤️ I look forward to Rhett 2.0!
