I only recently discovered the song (it came up in a YT feed -- one of those fortuitous moments of algorithmic magic) and absolutely loved it. I'm also continuing to enjoy the Wheels Off episodes -- so wonderful to hear artists reflect with you on the creative process. I also find it interesting (albeit in a distressing way often) to hear about the changes in the music industry from the '90s to today.

Rhett so wonderful to hear you are healing. And thanks for the beautiful love letter.

We unfortunately are one of the family’s that lost everything. I was able to weave up streets early morning on Wednesday to my house before there was a massive police and fire presence. I saw my beautiful new house that I had worked on for several years engulfed in uncontrollable flames before my eyes. It was so traumatic. Knowing that you know, and having this love letter means a lot to us. With love, Johnny McVee.

Rhett thank you so much for the kind words. Five months in and it’s still very traumatic. I know you can relate given your NYC experiences circa 9/11. Different but similar.

Glad you’re back among the singing! Seems like one of the best ways to help us all cope with the gut-punches that life provides. Can’t imagine what the issue was with Roman candles! Too sexual? Too dangerous? Be well my friend!

It makes me so very happy to hear your voice! Also, I love the Kurt Vonnegut print behind you :) I showed you my "Busy, Busy, Busy" tattoo from Cat's Cradle once (not that you remember, you probably have lots of weird fans showing you tattoos). Anyway, I love the song and can't wait to see you performing again!

Such great news for you. A beautiful silver lining among a shit storm of otherwise awful news from L.A.

There’s sound on those higher notes! That’s a great start! What a relief. It’s been so long since we’ve been in your red room. I like the new blue couch and cool artwork above it.

I’m so sorry for the sudden loss of your friend. I lost two dear friends last year. The grief is next level. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. ❤️

OMFGG I (we) are so thrilled to hear you!!! You sound great and we're all hoping for a 100% recovery :) It is heartbreaking to watch and hear what's going on in LA - good friends in PacPal lost everything - but are safe. Let's pray for them and do what we can to help!

Yay, Rhett! So happy for you that it’s coming back to ya! I have a Jagged Story, which is that, when i had a stroke back in 2018, my first outing was to see you at the Word Barn. I was doing ok, but still coping with the sudden injury to my poor brain. You opened with Jagged, and it was so perfect for me because i WOULD have given anything not to feel so jagged! And now, 7 years later, my brain has mostly recovered. I will always remember that particular performance. I love you and hope to see you and your sweet voice soon. Happy New Year!

Hey Susan,

Great story. I too had a stroke in 2022 . Still recovering but lost the use of my left hand. As a hack guitar player Jagged was always on of my favorites . I remember laughing at the irony when I tried to play it the first time after therapy. I too felt so Jagged 🥰 With some modified what I've termed "stroke chords, I've gotten back to "playing". Music and Rhett and the Boys have helped my brain for years.

Good luck ,

Augie

Wonderful news about your voice and your continued healing. Can't wait to hear your next tour! Interesting to learn you lived in California; it must have been fantastic to be young and following your heart and dreams in LA. And yes, it is heartbreaking to hear of people losing their homes and pets and lives to uncontrollable fires. It's time for our nation to start healing and to unite in solidarity. Take it slow during your recovery!
