"Isn’t the purpose of a voice to lift each other up, make each other feel seen and supported?" YES. Thanks for always using yours to help lift us all up, Rhett. Wishing you a lovely (and chatty) 2025.

One song I've known all my life is Sunrise, Sunset. But now that my kids are grown up, I can't hear it (or even think about it) without getting tears in my eyes.

Thanks, Rhett, for another beautiful essay and a glimpse of your family.

It wasn't hard to guess that this would be a big challenge for you of all people - glad to see you're thinking and writing about it. Hopefully the convalescence serves both its primary purpose 110% and also opens up some new thoughts about communication and ice cream. We love you and can't wait to hear! how you're getting on. Merry Christmas from us to y'all and hope 2025 is a great year!

This was lovely to read. Thank you for it. I also love how it looks like there is a space between the "a" and "lone." Like, I'm a lone not alone. I was born a lone, grew up a lone, will die a lone. Please just let me be a lone. Etc.

How did we get to the future so fast, indeed. I can so relate. It sounds like a lyric to a future song you might write. I hope you and your beautiful family have a wonderful Christmas.
